My name is Trevor Machete, I hold a BA. degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of South Africa.
My interest in the financial markets led me to founding my own company called Machete Capital under which I am a stock investor and trader.
I have background certification in Journalism and top it up with skills in graphic design and website development.
Growing up I came to realise the importance of money, and so the desire to know about how good money can be made led me into curiosity about the general workings of the economy, which is how I ended up here.
This blog is about everything in the economy that affects
people’s ability and opportunities to make and grow their money.
It is for every South African who is either economically
active or seeks to be. Every South African’s prospect of success in this
country revolves around the health of the economy and without choice, the
events, decisions, mass successes and failures that take place in the economy and
the decisions that are taken therein (or lack thereof) affect all of us, hence
it is our responsibility to keep ourselves informed about every aspect of the
economy because it may lead to a change in our fortunes.
